[edit] History

The minor district (King Amphoe) was established on April 30 1994 by splitting it from Mancha Khiri district[1].

Following a decision of the Thai government on May 15 2007, all of the 81 minor districts were to be upgraded to full districts[2]. With the publishing in the Royal Gazette on August 24 the upgrade became official[3].

[edit] Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Mancha Khiri, Chonnabot and Waeng Yai of Khon Kaen Province, and Khon Sawan and Kaeng Khro of Chaiyaphum Province.

[edit] Administration

The district is subdivided into 4 subdistricts {tambon), which are further subdivided into 40 villages (muban). The township (thesaban tambon) Ban Khok covers parts of the tambon Ban Khok. There are further 4 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
