Hang Chat (Thai: ห้างฉัตร) is a district (Amphoe) in the western part of Lampang Province, northern Thailand.

Neighboring districts are (from the northeast clockwise): Mueang Lampang, Ko Kha, Soem Ngam of Lampang Province and Mae Tha of Lamphun Province.

Originally named Hang Sat (หางสัตว์), it was renamed to Hang Chat in 1940.[1]

The district is subdivided into 7 subdistricts (tambon), which are further subdivided into 73 villages (muban). Hang Chat is a township (thesaban tambon) which covers parts of tambon Hang Chat. There are further 7 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
