[edit] About Me

Wikipedia:Babel
en This user is a native speaker of English.

I'm from Berkeley, California and since I since I was born in Milford, Connecticut, some hard core Californians might not call me a native. But since my grandmother moved to Berkeley as a refugee from the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, and I've lived here all but four years of my life, I tend to call myself a native Berkeleyan. I've been an account-bearing Wikipedian since December 2005.

[edit] Things I do

I teach physics at Carondelet High School in Concord, California in the mornings, then I watch my granddaughter in the afternoons while her mom is at work.

My science education pages can be found at http://teacherresourceexchange.org/science. There you'll find many resouces for teaching science (primarily teenage physical science). I used to keep my pages on my former school's web site, but then they decided that some of the information on the site was too old, and rather than figure out what was old and needed to be scrapped, they dumped the whole site. Never again will my web content be dependent upon bureaucrats.

I run a web site called ShopInBerkeley that provides free and low coast web pages for businesses in Berkeley, CA. I've been running the site since August 2000, and I must be doing something right because my web pages rank quite high in search engines.

I also serve as a Commissioner on the City of Berkeley Parks and Recreation Commission, appointed by District 2 Councilmember Darryl Moore. The commission advises the City Council on issues related to parks and recreation in Berkeley.
