Admiral Amos Parnell is a fictional character in the Honorverse. His character was the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) for the People's Republic of Haven during its time under the Legislaturists. He authorized the skirmishes and opening battles of Haven's war against the Star Kingdom of Manticore. Parnell was believed to have been executed by the Committee of Public Safety for committing "treason against the people". In truth he was kept alive and held captive on the Haven prison planet of Hades. With the assistance of then Commodore Countess Honor Harrington he escaped, and made his way into the Solarian League where he gave testimony in front of the Solarian Assembly of Human Rights.
