Hello there, welcome to the 'pedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you need pointers on how we title pages visit Wikipedia:Naming conventions or how to format them visit our manual of style. If you have any other questions about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Village pump. Cheers! --maveric149
Many thanks! Maveric! What do you think I should do first?
Anthony.
Hello. Why are you uploading HTML files? -- Notheruser 03:47, 29 Jul 2003 (UTC)
Dear Notheruser,
I have difficulty getting a "free" homepage on the net! So I figure out this might be a nice place for my "little" htmls.
Oh! Is "angelfire" and such always busy?
Anthony.
- In my opinion, most free hosting is subpar, at best. Although, I did have some success with Freewebs a while back; it's ad-free too. You might want to move your pages to that host as using Wikipedia for personal storage is looked down upon (there's also the chance of the pages being deleted). Regards, Notheruser.
Sorry, but I don't think these pages are going to be allowed to stay. They are not part of an encyclopedia article. I have listed them on Votes for deletion. They will be listed there for a week if you want to go and comment. Angela 23:15, 1 Aug 2003 (UTC)
Wikipedia is not a free hosting provider (see #15 in linked list). These files will be deleted.—Eloquence 23:25, Aug 1, 2003 (UTC)
Hi. The stuff you added at Chigorin doesn't have anything to do with Chigorin (either the player or the variation of the Ruy Lopez), so I've listed it on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion. If you're going to stick around, I suggest you have a look around at some other articles to get some idea of how we try to write around here - we don't sign articles, and, as an encyclopaedia, we try to make them impersonal in other ways too. You might want to have a look at Wikipedia:Welcome, newcomers. Any questions, you can post them to the bottom of the Wikipedia:Village pump. --Camembert
Hi, please try and write in a more encyclopedic fashion. That is
- try not to use first person. In your chess articles, it will be more encyclopedic to call yourself in these games "White" or "Black" in discussion.
- encyclopedic introductory sections: "Dear Ladies and Gents" is hardly becoming of an encyclopedia :) A brief discussion of the topic you wish to deal with will suffice.

Dear Notheruser,
Many thanks for recommending Freewebs for me! I've successfully logged on to the Angelfire for my homepages and blogs also!
Anthony.
Dear Dysprosia,
Well, many thanks for reminding me this is an encyclopedia for all! I'll take up your advice for putting a brief summary at the top and try to make it more formal!
Anthony.
