[edit] Your RfAr

I see you filed a Request for Arbitration. Your request is a bit misplaced; if there's any forum at all for this is Deletion Review, but even then, it was a year-old uncontroversial deletion of what appeared to be an advertisement, so that's likely to be closed quickly. If the game truly does meet Wikipedia's standards for inclusion now, you may simply recreate the article. However, please read the guidelines at Wikipedia:Your first article first, especially as this is your own product you are writing about, as we tend to discourage articles that appear to be self-promotion. I cannot say whether or not it would be kept now, as I don't know anything about the game, but if there is any way it should be included this is the way to do it. Aminto, I started the article. The Da Vinci Game. If the article is too light on material I will merge it somewhere. FloNight talk 17:21, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi Mindspillage, thanks for clarifying the situation for me. FloNight, many thanks for creating the new page. I see that the RfAr has now been removed, which makes sense and hope everyone's happy with things as they stand at the moment. Aminto.

Hello Aminto : ) The arbitration case was removed because it was obvious you meant to request a review of the Afd instead of RFAr. It caused a chuckle among a lot of Wikipedians (some probably even wondering if it was a April Fools Day joke hatched early). Arbitration is the last step in the dispute process, usually brought because one or more editors are being disruptive to the point of interfering with writing the encyclopedia. If you didn't know, Mindspillage is an arbitrator. She also has a reputation for being calm and level headed, not someone likely to be involved in a disruptive dispute. So seeing her involvement with a arb case was surprising. : )
After I saw your request, I went ahead and started the article. As Mindspillage says, articles can be started if there is a valid reason for doing it. To justify the article, I presented the game as part of a fad. I began linking the codes and symbolism in the game to the novel and the fad. I think, this is the best way for it to be considered notable. If it is seen as an promotion for the product it will be quickly brought up on Afd. We'll see how it goes. I'm going to include some more information on the fad aspect and the code. cheers, --FloNight talk 17:30, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. I have to admit I chuckled at the chance to respond to a request for arbitration brought against me! Looks like FloNight has got you well started; cheers and happy editing. Mindspillage (spill yours?) 08:48, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
Hiya, I had originally planned on simply asking what I should do on your talk section Mindspillage, but when I visited there it seemed to indicate I should go to an arbitration page and I must admit I then got completely baffled by all the different options. Thanks again to you both for sorting everything out. Aminto.

[edit] Notability of Vanilla beer

A tag has been placed on Vanilla beer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 06:27, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

I am not an administrator, so I cannot act on your request. Under the circumstances, your request would likely be denied anyway. Since the article was removed by speedy-deletion, you can post it again, but it will likely meet the same fate unless significant improvements are made. Realkyhick 16:34, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
