Amin Torres is an artist originally from cabrera in the Dominican Republic. He attended Altos de Chavon La Escuela de Diseño, where he earned his associate’s degree in fine arts and illustration. In 2003, Amin moved to New York to continue his illustration studies full-time at Parsons School of Design. He will earned his bachelor‘s degree in 2006. Amin has worked in several design-related fields. This includes working for companies such as Hyperakt, an award-winning multimedia graphic design studio based in Brooklyn, and Blackford Labs, a design studio based in New York. He has worked on projects for clients such as Macys, Nike, Casio and others. He also designs websites for clients ranging from artistic foundations to independent jewelry designers. In 2005, he taught high school students that participated in the Summer Pre-Enrollment Program at Parsons. He also participates in numerous web and programming projects. Amin has been awarded several scholarships and grants for his work and artistic potential. These include the Juan Pablo Duarte Foundation, Charles Bluhdorn Scholarship, Ayuda for the Arts Award, and the International Leadership Development Grant.
