[edit] Summary
A cropped image of Ami Mizuno as drawn and copyrighted by Naoko Takeuchi. It was published in her Original Picture Collection Volume II and was found at Manga Style!.
[edit] Fair use for Sailor Mercury
This image is being linked here. Though the picture is subject to copyright, I, Masamage, feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- it is a low-resolution scan from a Sailor Moon art book;
- it does not limit the copyright owners' rights to sell the wider copyrighted work in any way;
- it provides an illustration of this character (Ami Mizuno) in the series, and is to be used solely for this purpose.
[edit] Licensing
This image is an illustration of a character or characters in a comic book, video game, or animated television program or film. The copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher/producer and/or artist(s) producing the work in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of character artwork:
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
