Amirli

Amirli is a town near Kirkuk in northern Iraq. It has a population of 26000 mainly from Iraq's Turkoman ethnic minority. Amirli is located in Salah ad Din Governorate near the border with Diyala Governorate. The town is the centre of a farming region. [1]

On June 7, 2007, the 2007 Amirli bombing in the market place killed 105 people with another 250 injured. [2]
