4-Aminophenol is a white powder.[1]. It is a breakdown product of paracetamol (acetaminophen, U.S. English).[citation needed] The compound is commonly known for its use in the Black and White film developer, Rodinal.
The compound is one of three isomers the other two being 3-aminophenol and 2-aminophenol.
