AMI Semiconductor

AMI Semiconductor is a company engaged the design and manufacture of customer specific integrated circuit solutions, including solutions for the automotive, medical and industrial markets. Among its products are products that integrate processing of analog and digital signals. AMI Semiconductor operates globally with headquarters in Pocatello, Idaho, European corporate offices in Oudenaarde, Belgium (formerly Alcatel Mietec), and a network of sales and design centers located in the key markets of North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

AMI Semiconductor is a wholly owned subsidiary of AMIS Holdings, Inc.

On December 13, 2007 AMIS Holdings, Inc, parent company of AMI Semiconductor was acquired by ON Semiconductor, based in Phoenix Arizona for a reported 915 million dollars. The deal is slated to be finalized sometime in the first half of 2008.

On March 12, 2008 90% of the stockholders voted to approve the merger between AMI Semiconductor and ON Semiconductor, with the deal to close on March 17th. It was announced that ON Semiconductor will phase out the 5" wafer fabrication unit in Pocatello, Idaho by March, 2010.
