This template is based on the very successful Template:Imdb name
- Go to allmovie.com and search for the actor you want
- Click on the correct link to go to the person's page. Be sure you're getting the right person
- if the page URL is http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll Click on wrong search result? more matches HERE if not skip to #5
- This will bring you to a search page where you can select the page again
- The page URL should now look like http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=#:######, where "#:" can have a variable lenght of numbers or letters before the colon and "######" will also have a variable lenght of numbers or letters.
- Copy everything after "avg.dll?p=avg&sql="
- Add to the external links section the text:
- {{amg name|id=#:#####|name=Name}}
- where "#:######" is the number you've copied, and "Name" is the name of the actor.

- Searching for "Jack Nicholson", you'll get to this page: http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll
- Click on wrong search result? more matches HERE
- This will bring you to a page Search for: Jack Nicholson Select the page again
- Now you will get this page: http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=2:104455
- Copy "2:104455" and then write:
- {{amg name|id=2:104455|name=Jack Nicholson}}
The result is Jack Nicholson at Allmovie
Note that, since this will almost certainly go on the external link section, you should add a * before the template text to include it as a list item.
