Template:Amg movie is permanently protected from editing, as it is a heavily used or visible template. Editing Guidelines Please remember these guidelines when editing a film article: If a non-film article already exists with the name of the film that you are trying to create an article for, disambiguate and use (film) in the title: Film Title (film) For more information see: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (films) When writing an article about a particular film, the general format should be a concise lead section, followed by a plot summary of no more than 900 words, production details, a cast list, a reception section, and references. Create an Infobox that tells all pertinent information about the film.

This template is based on the very successful Template:Imdb title

1. Go to allmovie.com and search for the title you want
2. Click on the correct link to go to the movie's page (or whatever you're looking for). Be sure you're getting on the correct title page.
3. Your page will most likely show you http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll
4. Click on wrong search result? more matches HERE
5. This will bring you to a search page where you can select the page again
6. The page URL should now look like http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=#:######, where "#:" can have a variable lenght of numbers or letters before the colon and "######" will also have a variable lenght of numbers or letters.
7. Copy everything after "avg.dll?p=avg&sql="
8. Add to the external links section the text:

{{amg movie|id=#:#####|title=Title}}

where "#:######" is the number you've copied, and "Title" is the title of the movie or show.

1. Searching for "Beetle Juice", you'll get to this page: http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll
2. Click on wrong search result? more matches HERE
3. This will bring you to a page Search for: beetle juice Select the page again
4. Now you will get this page: http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=1:4624
5. Copy "1:4624" and then write:

{{amg movie|id=1:4624|title=Beetle Juice}}

The result is Beetle Juice at Allmovie

Note that, since this will almost certainly go on the external link section, you should add a * before the template text to include it as a list item.
