Amgaon is a town and a tehsil in Deori subdivision of Gondia district in Nagpur revenue Division in the Berar region in the state of Maharashtra, India.

It is railway station ( code AGN ) under Nagpur Division of South East Central Railway

Amgaon is Situated in Gondia District in Maharshtra State. It is 150km away from Nagpur. It is placed on Kurla-Hawda marg. It is called as Rice city. Various Usna Rice industries are here. Usna rice is majorly exported to other states. It is the exact mid point on Kurla-Hawda Railway It is attached to the border of Chhatishgarh and Madyapradesh.

Places to visit : - Kali Tempal ,Mahadev Pahadi , Tanhya bapucha wada ,Bagh River etc. An emerging village with 40 rice mills,a dairy and D.pharma college and 4 higher secondary schools. Now just 20km away from Amgoan on Kamtha road a Air force Academy is developing.

It is a city of great poet Bhavabhuti. Bhavabhuti was born in a Deshastha Brahmin family of Padmapura which is in Amgaon tehsil. And in the name of Bhavabhuti, one large college is there... Bhavabhuti Mahavidyalaya

Another interesting is that on Amgaon - Deori road a big Lord Mt. Buddha's statue is established on the hill. Now a days this hill became a tourist place. Many of the people from Buddhist community and other too visits this place daily. The statue is established by the committee Dhammagiri Prayawaran Samiti and the name Dhammagiri is given to this tourist place.

This place is fully surrounded by greeneries and lake. The whole Amgaon city can be viewed from the top of the hill.
