Talk:American Spirit Honor Medal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was awarded this medal at Chanute AFB in 1961. In the early 1980's my home was robbed and one of the items taken was the American Spirt Honor Medal. I have been trying to find a way to have it replaced, but am not having any luck. I have the ribbon and the certificate, but would like to get a replacement medal. Has anyone any idea how that can be accomplished. Thanks, Ron Casscles. Sequim Wa.

Ron, I recieved mine in 1968 at Ft Campbell KY. It too was lost. I carried if for two tours in Vietnam, and promptly lost it when I got home. I got lucky and found a medal trader who had two of them, and sold me one for $45.00. I would say to do some intensive searches of the medal trading world and see if there is one. I did manage to find the original supplier, casting company. The medals were struck by a company that relocated to Reno Nevada area, but they wanted $500.00 to locate (search for)the dies and strike no less than 30. I know you can get one, just keep your eyes open and good luck.Dickn52 (talk) 21:17, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
