[edit] Criticisms

Please don't add criticisms of this organisation unless there are published sources to back them up. See WP:V for more information. I will continue to revert such additions until reliable sources are cited. Kevin 12:31, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

What's wrong with the latitude/longitude information? It can be verified by using Google Earth/going there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.218.141.12 (talk • contribs).

Why would you want the GPS coordinates of a school? It's informationcruft when you have the address (which shouldn't even be in there anyway). --mboverload@ 07:01, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

The school's lack of accreditation is a valid and verifiable concern- see the accreditation section of the school's website that has been "under construction" for over a year.

People going there can see that for themselves. We don't need to list every school without accreditation and your malicious crusade against this school is tiring. --mboverload@ 21:38, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
The absolute most you can use from that fact is that "the school website has an accreditation section which is under construction". Anything else you add is your own opinion, unless you find a reliable third party source for the criticism. How many ways do you need us to say it? Kevin 21:54, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
If the school is unaccredited it would be normal practice to say so. That said, the sources for accreditation are listed elsewhere; we tend to rely on the accreditation agencies, not the schools. The schools are not universally scrupulous in these matters :-) Just zis Guy you know? 22:00, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Unless the accreditation is legally mandated or it is universally accepted that it is required, then mentioning the lack seems POV to me. It may be fair the state that while (insert list here) other schools in Hong Kong are accredited to (whatever accreditation), this one is not. Kevin 22:05, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I should have made it more clear that I meant only one sentence about it, or just include it in another sentence. No sections about it. --mboverload@ 22:25, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

OK then let's do that.

I removed all unsourced negative material about this school. Please read WP:NOT, especially the parts about soapboxes and personal opinions. Also, the fact that there is a web page "under construction" does not mean that a school is unaccredited - it indicates that it's web page is incomplete. Finally, please read WP:V before adding any statements that sound like gossip. If you can cite reasonable sources for negative opinions, you may add those opinions back in. -Orayzio 00:48, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Moving to American International School Hong Kong

This article should be moved to American International School Hong Kong. And this page should be used either for a general article about American International Schools or as a disambiguation page for American International Schools. Most American International Schools throughout the world are referred to by those who attend them and those who live in the communities in which they are located as "the American International School" or "AIS". -- AmbientArchitecture 04:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

The American International School, Hong Kong is fully accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The next WASC visit takes place in March 2008.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Aislogo.gif

Image:Aislogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
