If you pay late and do not abide by terms on contract that is signed by the customer than,yes more of your payment will go to intrest when late payment is actually made.So of coarse if you pay late enough the principal balance will not go down like the contract said it should if paid on time. Americredit finances the less than perfect credit buyer with a loan program that will leave you with a nasty surprise when you pay off the balance if you ever paid late. The company has never disclosed and it was never disclosed to me when I purchased the vehicle that I would be charged a per day late charge that would be collected after my vehicle was paid off. Assuming that all people who finance with Americredit have had or are in some credit difficulties it could be very likely that you could make a late payment throughout the life of you loan. If that is the case be prepared to be presented with a final bill after your last payment is made for accrued late charges. My bill is a very shocking $2,106.00 in addition to what I have paid throughout the life of my loan. I have been given a 30 day period to pay this off and I will not get my clear title until I do even though the actual car loan is paid off. Even though I have had this note for 5 years this is the first I have ever been informed of this. Be aware of this very nasty surprise when you have the unfortunate position of dealing with Americredit. If you have an option, finance with someone else because the loan comes with this nasty surprise if even you where not informed about it.70.240.164.21 23:53, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Where AmeriCredit Payments Might Go...

All of the text here is my opinion

Its probably not odd for a large company like AmeriCredit Corp. to invest in other companies, and to have other companies invest in AmeriCredit Corp. but in researching SEC filings, I found that Bruce Kovner of Caxton made deals with AmeriCredit and www.aztecgalvanizing.com . I was surprised to think that it could be possible that Bruce Kovner, potentially the largest donor to Juilliard (over $80 Million dollars last year) was making money off of me, and dropping it at the doorstep of one of the most expensive Liberal Arts schools in the world - Juilliard. I'm not complaining, I just think its odd that I can't afford to go to Juilliard, but I can afford to pay high interest on a subprime auto loan from a Juilliard affiliate.

Of course, in thinking about the dealings between AmeriCredit Corp. and Aztec Galvanizing and Bruce Kovner's Caxton, I immediately wondered how close Americredit actually is to the manufacturer of the metal going into my vehicle. (Robin Williams went to Juilliard and he was the son of a Ford Motor Company Executive, so I didn't think that it would be too difficult to find a connection.) Guess what, it wasn't.

It is my opinion that AmeriCredit Corp. is a company run and operated by train robbers. They build towers out of little people's money and they can't even lend them a dime to go to school.
