Photograph taken by Richard Chambers, March 2006, of the jump wings of Private William (Bill) Wheeler who served in 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. Mr. Wheeler made two jumps as indicated by the two jump stars on his wings, one for D-Day of the Battle of Normandy in which he jumped as a pathfinder and one for Operation Market Garden in which he jumped as regular parachute infantry.
