Category:American actor-politicians
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a category for American people who are notable as both actors and politicians.
Criteria for inclusion in this category is that both a person's acting and a person's political career would meet Wikipedia's notability criteria. For example, Ronald Reagan's acting career would be notable even if he had not been President of the United States, and his political career would have been notable had he not been an actor. As a counter-example, Rudy Giuliani's appearance on Seinfeld would not qualify him as a notable actor, as his notability stems solely from being a politician. A good rule of thumb for classifying someone as a politician would be if they've ever run for a political office or had a major political appointment (such as an U.S. ambassadorship or presidential cabinet position). For instance, Ron Silver's Chairmanship for the Millennium Committee, Directorship of the United States Institute of Peace, and his political activism, while all political, would not be notable enough to count him as a politician.
