American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AUBIH) was established in Tuzla, in 2006, and is one of the first universities in BIH to offer student-centered approach to education, with access to the most up-to-date research materials. AUBIH has established partnership with State University of New York (SUNY) to offer undergraduate programs in the fields of international financing, banking, insurance and risk management, information technology and digital economy. It also offers one year fast-track graduate degree program in Master of Business Administration from SUNY IT.
Most of lecturers at AUBIH are of USA professional background, as well as European and BIH, and the University prouds itself on its diversity and excellence. Some lectures are conducted via online, distance-learning methods, in direct link with SUNY lecturers.
Students from AUBIH receive double diploma (USA and BIH), they attend one semester in USA, they have opportunity for work placement with the leading companies such as Xerox, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, Kodak, and they have access to SUNY online library.
American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina is situated in Tuzla, the third largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in the northeastern part of Bosnia. The city is currently estimated to have 160,000 inhabitants, and it is two and half hours away from the BIH capital Sarajevo.
In 2007 academic year, the University will open a postgraduate department in Sarajevo, offering a fast track master degree in business administration.
