American Triangle is a song by British pop-rock singer and songwriter, Elton John, from his 2001 album, Songs from the West Coast. It is dedicated to the memory of Matthew Shepard, a college student who was murdered by two homophobes for his sexual orientation near Laramie, Wyoming in October 1998. It features Canadian singer Rufus Wainwright on backing vocals.
