American Resort Development Association

The American Resort Development Association ("ARDA") is a professional association representing the USA vacation ownership and resort development industry, also referred to as the timeshare industry. It currently acts to advocate for the industry, playing a role in local, state, and national governmental issues. For example, ARDA can assist to represent the interests of timeshare owners in situations in which local jurisdictions may seek to apply occupancy taxes to timeshare units. ARDA also provides information and networking opportunities for business people in the industry, and students and career-seekers looking to learn more about the sector. The ARDA International Foundation ("AIF") serves as ARDA's research arm, supporting active research on key topics in the industry.
ARDA was formed in 1969 as the American Land Development Association.
