The American Pet Products Manufacturers Association [1][2] (APPMA) was founded in 1958 and was incorporated as a not for profit corporation in Greenwich (Connecticut). APPMA is a not-for-profit trade association made up of over 1000 pet product manufacturers, their representatives, importers and livestock suppliers. Its membership consists of a diverse group representing both large corporations and growing business enterprises worldwide.
Since its conception The American Pet Products Manufacturers Association (APPMA) has claimed to be committed to supporting the pet industry through public policy, public affairs, and animal awareness.
The APPMA undertakes one major project each year to benefit its members: The Global pet expo. With 796 exhibiting members the Global Pet Expo is the largest annual pet products trade show in the world, distinguished in the "Trade Show 200," a listing of the largest shows in America.[3]
