American International School of Kuwait

The American International School of Kuwait is a private school located in Meidan Hawalli, Kuwait, offering education from grades K to 12. The school has been a member of IBO since 1993. The school's curriculum is based entirely on the US curriculum, however religion and Arabic classes are provided due to the Ministry of Education's requirement.

The American International School of Kuwait was founded by Dr. Kamil Al-Rayes, on September 4, 1991. It first opened in Surra, but after a few years in the mid-1990s, it moved to its current location in Hawalli.

During the summer of 2004, AISK officially became an MYP school.The MYP system is for grades 5-10. After becoming an MYP school, many changes started to form. A new theater, dubbed Kamil Al Rayyes theater, was built. The school was completely renovated during the summers, but was continued during the school days. The canteen was rebuilt and the gym was replaced completely. The AISK is fully credited by western universities. The School is also a member of the Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA).

The American International School of Kuwait is capable of holding more than 300 students. There are many classes built to house the students. These classes include Math, Science, Humanities, English, Arabic, French, Religion, Drama, Art, Technology, Music, and Band.

The AISK hosts many activities ranging from in-school to outside of school. JV and EMAC sports are also offered as an activity. EMAC generally has to travel to other countries such as Egypt, Greece, Jordan, UAE,Qatar, and India

It was one of the three first-place schools in the 2005/6 NESA Math League
