American Home & Habitat - Specialized Textile Outfitters - (www.ahh.biz) was originally formed as an internet based company in Dale City, Virginia in February 2001 by John Stone, a former Defense worker and computer programmer.
In 2002 American Home & Habitat expanded to larger offices in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Later that year the company redefined its role to include manufacturing straps and other specialized textile products, necessitating relocation to a larger facility in King George, Virginia. However, highly restrictive zoning laws in King George, Virginia made the company’s continued expansion nearly impossible.
In the summer of 2003 American Home & Habitat re-headquartered to a 67 acre private industrial facility amid the Ozark Mountain Plateau in the unincorporated area of Squires, Missouri. American Home & Habitat is now the largest employer in the Squires area and proudly strives to provide a culturally diverse and family oriented work environment; with a corporate culture that recognizes the individual needs of its workers and rewards quality customer service, dedication to the company, and job knowledge.
The company continues to grow, constantly adding new products to its product lines and increasing its manufacturing capabilities. American Home & Habitat’s offerings are grouped into 8 product lines: Heavy Duty Fabric, Specialized Textiles, Vinyl & Vinyl composites, webbing, Grommets & Grommet tools, Hardware, Sewing Accessories, Elastic & Cordage.
The company also has 6 manufacturing specialties: Straps & Belts, Tarps and Equipment Coverings, Bags and Totes, oversize vinyl fabrication, filter bags for fountain & pond pumps, and clear vinyl curtains.
American Home & Habitat maintains a large in-house stock of materials and parts and seeks out the most reliable suppliers; which enables the company to offer some of the fastest manufacturing and turn-around times in its industry.
