American Fork High School is a public high school in American Fork, Utah. Its mascot is the Caveman, chosen as a tribute to Timpanogos Cave[citation needed]. Along with Carlsbad High School in New Mexico, Grants Pass High School in Southern Oregon, and Mishawaka High School in Indiana[1], they are the only schools in the United States using the mascot[citation needed]. The Cavemen currently play in Class 5A and Region IV.

[edit] Fight Song
"Dear old AF High
Yes we will love you till we die
Our banners bright of red and white
Will be a beacon through the night
Dramatic arts and ball and track
We'll always bring the honors back
We'll sing our praises to the sky
We'll always fight for AF High."

[edit] Football
American Fork High School, despite having the second-longest athletics history in the state of Utah, has not won a football state championship since The Sixties.[citation needed]. Coach Davis Knight is entering his 26th season at the school, compiling a 142-108-1 record as head coach[citation needed]. The football team's upcoming schedule includes a visit from East Anchorage High School and a trip to Santa Ana, California[citation needed]. This season has been dedicated to the family of the 2006-'07 Student Body President Travis Landeen[citation needed], who died in a car crash. The football team will also wear special helmet decals in honor of him. Their rivals include the Lone Peak Knights (Highland), Pleasant Grove Vikings (Pleasant Grove), and the Lehi Pioneers (Lehi)[citation needed].
[edit] Marching Band
Excluding a single loss at the Davis Cup competition hosted by Davis High School, the American Fork High School Marching Band has been undefeated in Utah for the last five years, although almost all the 2007 events were extremely close. A inquiry is currently underway, however, because of allegations of bribery. They have been invited to parades across the nation, and Bands of America competitions on multiple occaisions. In 2007, they traveled to New York City to participate in the Macy's Day Parade[citation needed]. The band has been the Utah state champions for the past 14 years[citation needed].
[edit] Drama Program
AF has a notable drama program. They have won many awards at the Utah Shakespearian Festival[citation needed]. Some of their full-length production credits include: Beauty and the Beast, Children of Eden, Noises Off, Lucky Stiff, The Crucible, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Peter Pan, Taming of the Shrew, and Les Miserables[citation needed]. The Department is currently directed by Mr. Neal Johnson[citation needed]. .
