American Fool is the sixth album by John Cougar, now known by his real name of John Mellencamp, released in 1982 (see 1982 in music). This was Mellencamp's last album to be released under the name John Cougar. His next album, Uh-Huh, would be released as a John Cougar Mellencamp project.
