The American Evangelistic Association is a Christian organization dedicated to the purpose of promoting doctrinal, ethical, and moral standards for independent churches.
It was founded in 1954 by Reverend John E. Douglas in Baltimore, Maryland. It is currently adminstered by a five-person executive committee.
Its current activities include licensing of independent pastors, most of whom are Pentecostals, and also some conservative evangelicals. It also oversees the activities of over one thousand missionary workers outside of the United States, primarily in India, Korea, Hong Kong, and Haiti. It also publishes World Evangelism, which primarily focuses on the group's mission activities, and sponsors the annual Christian Fellowship Convention.
While the group's headquarters remain in Baltimore, its missionary component, World Missionary Evangelism, is located in Dallas, Texas.
