American Century Celebrity Golf Classic

The American Century Celebrity Golf Classic is the premier celebrity golf tournament on the Celebrity Players Tour. It is traditionally held during the second full week of July at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada, on the shores of Lake Tahoe.
The 2008 tournament is scheduled for July 8-13.

The first tournament was held in 1990 and sponsored by NBC, who broadcasts the sceond and third round coverage. Starting in 1991, Isuzu sponsored the tournament until 1998. American Century Investments is the current title sponsor since 1999.

- During the final round of the 1996 tournament, Bill Laimbeer led going to the last hole. He hit a good tee shot, but then hit six balls into the lake guarding the 18th green, thus losing his lead and the tournament to Billy Joe Tolliver. After the tournament, the lake was renamed Lake Laimbeer.
- Rick Rhoden, Dan Quinn, and Billy Joe Tolliver are the only three celebrities who have won the tournament more than once.
- From its beginnings until 2004, the tournament used a stroke play format. Starting with the 2004 tournament, the stableford format has been used.
