The American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP) is a US federal government program implemented by the National Park Service of the Department of the Interior with the aim of preserving historic battlefields in the United States through land management, site preservation, and public education. The program operates under the guidelines established by the American Battlefield Protection Program Act of 1996, as amended by the Civil War Battlefield Preservation Act of 2002.
