The American Association of Woodturners (AAW) is the principal organization in the United States supporting the art and craft of woodturning. Established in 1986, it is now the largest organization in the world dedicated to the advancement of woodturning. With over 13,000 members and 287 local chapters as of 2008, it is dedicated to education, information, and organization of woodturners. In addition to sponsoring an annual symposium, it provides support to local clubs for outreach and education. Its website is http://www.woodturner.org.
