American Archivist
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The American Archivist is the official publication of the Society of American Archivists (SAA). First published in January 1938, the American Archivist seeks to reflect thinking about theoretical and practical developments in the archival profession, particularly in North America; about the relationships between archivists and the creators and users of archives; and about cultural, social, legal, and technological developments that affect the nature of recorded information and the need to create and maintain it. The journal contains essays, case studies, in-depth perspectives, and reviews of recent books and web resources. The American Archivist is a refereed journal published semiannually (ISSN 0360-9081). SAA initiated an online version (ISSN forthcoming) in 2008 hosted by MetaPress.
