[edit] History
America's Team was formed when "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes and "America's Heartthrob" Magnum T.A. started teaming up to fight the Four Horsemen and the Russian Team in Jim Crockett Promotions in 1985. They never won tag team gold but were one of the more dominant tag teams in the promotion until 1986, when Magnum's career was ended in a car wreck.
While feuding with the Midnight Express and their manager Jim Cornette, they wore masks as "The James Gang" to fool the Midnight Express and drag Cornette behind their pickup truck out of the TBS studio in Atlanta, Georgia in another incident.
After Magnum's injury, Nikita Koloff turned face and joined Rhodes as The Super Powers.
