[edit] Sorevnovaniya Island
Thank you for the correction in the name of this cold and desolate island. I got the wrong spelling from Encarta Encyclopedia in English. Mohonu (talk) 05:07, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Maps to commons
Please excuse my ignorance, but how can I upload the maps to commons? If you could please find out the instructions for me I will gladly do so. Mohonu (talk) 04:55, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Bolshevik Island
I have uploaded the maps. I hope you can use them. With a simple program like "Paint" it is easy to substitute the Roman texts with Cyrillic ones.
If you write articles about the Russian Arctic, be sure you translate the English article William Barr (Arctic historian) into Russian. He has contributed much to popularize the exploits of Russian and Soviet Arctic pioneers and the knowledge of the Russian Arctic and its exploration through his scholarly writings in English.
Could you please find out whether Bolshevik Island in Severnaya Zemlya has been renamed as "Dikson Island"? I find this quite confusing, because there was already a Dikson Island in the Kara Sea, but there it appears [1]. Is that an error?Mohonu (talk) 14:32, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
