From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Good point - I'll change it to International Business Editor for The Daily Telegraph. I also need some more favorable material to balance it out a bit but, honestly, it's difficult to find. Swatch —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.36.205.137 (talk) 15:53, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
User 195.152.249.12 says "This entry is defamatory in almosty every respect. It reflects very badly on Wikipedia." Swatch NYC replies: The article reflects the content of every book I have that mentions Evans-Pritchard. It is very well referenced. What can I say? The guy has a lot of critics with very strong opinions about the role he played during his time in the U.S.
The piece isn't defamatory. That isn't to say that it is *balanced*. If other users have other facts from other sources that contradict what is here already then by all means change it and help build a better article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.168.128.53 (talk) 18:15, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
FCYTravis - please explain your approach (and also what is 'BLS Issues')? I fear this will degenerate into revolving door deletions/undoing if it isn't discussed. Cheers. SwatchNYC —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.168.128.53 (talk) 01:32, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- No, it won't. The protection will assure that. Please examine our policy on biographies of living persons. FCYTravis (talk) 01:45, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] OTRS
This article has been deleted, stripped and stubbed per OTRS ticket number 2007112710017292. The article as it was before represented the worst in Wikipedia - it was an unmitigated hit piece intended to denigrate its subject and portray him in the most negative light possible. That is not permissible on Wikipedia - it violates our biographies on living persons policy, which demands accurate, unbiased biographical articles. This article will be rebuilt from this point in a balanced, fair-minded manner, covering the broad spectrum of his work and not laser-focusing on a single part of it. Where it discusses his work, it will focus on the factual substance of his work and will represent the views of critics and supporters alike. That is non-negotiable. We must have a quality article here, and the previous content was not acceptable. Please work from here to create an unbiased, encyclopedic treatment of Mr. Evans-Pritchard's life.
