[edit] Toot's surfboard
When Toot came home, right before her Suprise Birthday party, she was carrying a Blue Surfboard, which she left at the door. I figured this was some referance I didn't understand, but nothing here. 66.30.232.146 04:40, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sure you're right, I'm sure it's a reference to some movie, but I can't say I recognize it myself.Raymondluxuryacht 05:15, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Ditto. I'm the editor for the Drawn Together guide at tv.com, though, so if anyone submits something about that to me, I'll post it here (in the talk section, to make sure it's moreorless correct) --Evildevil 20:11, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
- Clara is seen approaching the house from a beach, which recedes away to reveal the usual lawn and path in front of the house. This is likely to what Toot's surfboard also refers.--Jeffro77 04:22, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- I think you might be right. I wonder if maybe a scene was cut where we see Toot walking away from the beach. The joke would have made a lot more sense then.Raymondluxuryacht 05:23, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] References
- I've been racking my brain on this one ever since I saw it last night. Still no clue what it's from...I'm beginning to wonder if it's a reference, or if we're going to see some more "deleted footage" on the next DVD release? Knowing the knuckleheads behind Drawn Together, it's a reference but in a Family Guy sort of way. You either get it immediately or you don't, and from everything I'm reading online most people don't. --FARVA 05:40, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, one thing we know about the Drawn Together people, they don't shy away from obscure references. They even based an entire episode on a specific Facts of Life episode, for crying out loud. (Though I'll admit that once I knew that, I appreciated that particular episode, "The Other Cousin" a lot more.) I'd say the average viewer is lucky to pick up on half the references they make. This time around, I got the obvious references to Star Wars, Dukes of Hazzard, and the NBC PSA's, but missed the ones to Annie, Spider-Man 2, and Crank Yankers. That's one reason I'm glad for sites like this where we can compare notes.Raymondluxuryacht 05:58, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm just glad I was able to distingguish where the old man's voice came from before. I knew I've heard it. Also took me to the second watchthrough to finally realize where I've heard the song from, too. --Evildevil 16:43, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- I know what you mean. Kimmel was pretty easy to spot as Spanky's wife in the Xandir and Tim episode, but I wasn't sure what character he might have played in this one. I suspected it might be the old man, but I wasn't sure. After the second time watching, I heard it, but only after it had been pointed out already.Raymondluxuryacht 17:45, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
The old man standing on the diving board is seen as toothless and salivating at one point. Since he has teeth at other times, it would seem that this might be a reference to something.--Jeffro77 06:39, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cigarette
When both Toot and Clara are walking with that one guard, and both get burned by his cigarette, what is that in reference to? I've seen it before somewhere.
- I assumed it was just a joke to show how mean the attendants are, but it's probably been done in movies. I can't name one at the moment, though.Raymondluxuryacht 05:17, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
-
- It is a reference to general mistreatment of the elderly in nursing homes that occasionaly feature in news reports and current-affairs programs.--Jeffro77 04:22, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reptilian hand
When Toot is hanging from the lights, one of the hands reaching for her is green and reptilian, along with a growling noise. Any ideas what this is specifically in reference to?--Jeffro77 04:37, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- I assumed it was just a gag rather than a specific reference. It might have been a reference, though, I'm not sure.Raymondluxuryacht 05:23, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Guy in bowler hat
During the fight scene, a bald man in a bowler hat can be seen in some of the shots. Does anyone know if he's supposed to be a famous character of some sort?Raymondluxuryacht 05:27, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Japanese school-girl reference
Can someone clarify the reference about being able to 'eat and crap anywhere they want' relating to a Japanese school girl?--Jeffro77 12:52, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- I assumed it was a reference to Japanese men's supposed fondness for underage girls, and their kinky sexual desires.Raymondluxuryacht 16:13, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Voice of bounty hunter
Who Played Boba Fett in this episode because I have no idea? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Emigdioofmiami (talk • contribs) 22:29, 26 March 2007 (UTC).
- I suspect James Arnold Taylor, but I don't have confirmation of that.Raymondluxuryacht 22:58, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
