Alykes or Alikes (Greek: Αλυκές), older forms: -ai and -e is a Greek village located 3.5 km north of the centre of Kato Achaia, 24 km south of Patras and 78 km north-northeast of Pyrgos. Fares or Farres had a population of 206 for the settlement in 2001. Alykes is also in the municipal district and the municipality of Kato Achaia. Alykes is connected with the road linking the GR-62 (Kato Achaia - Araxos).

Alykes is situated by the Gulf of Patras and it has a beach that strecthes for 2 km, it is next to Kato Achaia Beach Alykes is situated in a narrow plain that stretches east to northeast Kato Alissos. The small mountains that stretches from south of Gomosto to Ovrya are to the south. Its main production are olive groves, cattle and dafrywhich dominates much of the area, other crops includes fruits including watermelon, melon, figs and vegetables including corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cucumbers and others. The majority of the population since the 1980s are based in tourism and some businesses, agriculture is the second leading industry, until the arrival of tourism, it was the primary industry in the settlement. It has approximately 6 km of paved roads, hydro lines and not as much residential roads.

Alykes is touristically popular and it has beaches and hotels along with swimming pools, satellite and non-satellite television, villas and more and they number three including just hotels, it also has several restaurants and bars. They are run by the West Achaia Association of Hotels.

Houses were stone-built until the 1950s and did not surpass modern-style homes until the 1980s. It was linked with pavement in the 1980s. Radio and automobiles arrived in the 1950s, the highway was being paved as well, television in 1980s, in the same time, tourism skyrocketed which led to construction and completion of hotels, villas and restaurants, computer and Internet arrived in the late-1990s.

After World War II and the Greek Civil War, much of the population left for larger towns and cities especially the nearby Patras.

Alykes has a school, a church, and a square (plateia), its nearest school lyceum (middle school) and gymnasium (secondary school) are in Kato Achaia, its hospital is in Patras at Agios Andreas.
