Alwynne Pritchard

Alwynne Pritchard (born 1968 in Glasgow) is a British composer and broadcaster.
She studied at the Guildhall School of Music with Robert Saxton and at the Royal Academy of Music with Justin Connolly and Michael Finnissy. She holds a PhD from the University of Bristol.
Pritchard's earliest acknowledged work is Glimpsed Most Clearly From The Corner Of Your Eye (1992) for seven cellos. More recent works include Decoy (2004) for ensemble and live electronics, the piano concerto Map of the Moon (2004) and To the Ground (2005) for electric violin and electronics.
Pritchard is a regular presenter of BBC Radio 3's contemporary music programme Hear and Now. She teaches composition at Trinity College of Music in London.
A CD of Pritchard's music has been released by the Métier label.
