Alwar district

Alwar is a district in Rajasthan, a state in northern India. The district is bounded on the north by Haryana state, and on the east by Bharatpur, on the south by Dausa, and on the west by Jaipur districts.
History of Alwar: The first reference to Alwar goes back to story of Prahald-Hiryanyakashyap, next in Mahabharta where the Pandavs lived their one year in hidden exile(Virat Nagar)called Barath, next in Bhartihari's Story then in the courts of Babar. Sweets: One of the world famous things Milkcake
Sariska National Park, a tiger sanctuary and Bhangarh-Ajabgarh are located in the district.
Arvari River flows through this district.
Five tehsils of Alwar are under NCR(National Capitol Region),that makes one fourth of total NCR area.
