Alvin Tresselt

Alvin Tresselt (born September 30, 1916, Passaic, New Jersey - July 24, 2000) was a pioneering children's book author and graphic designer. His book White Snow, Bright Snow (illustrated by Roger Duvoisin) won the Caldecott Medal. His most popular book was his retelling of the Ukrainian folktale The Mitten, illustrated by Yaroslova.

Alvin Tresselt died on July 24, 2000.
