Talk:Alticor
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Possibly should have a subsidiaries section? Amway, Quixtar, Access Business Group, Interleukin Genetics, Fulton Innovation, Nutrilite Inc, Amway Grand Plaza - others?
Other sources -
- Forbes.com listing on size - currently 27th largest US private company.
- Deloitte Touche has Alticor listed as Global Power in Retailing
- 2005 Winner of US Chamber of Commerce International Community Service Award

- I was working towards doing just that. Where'd you find the list of subsidiaries? I never saw a whole list. The sources you list don't seem to mention them. Are those just for future use? -Will Beback · † · 01:11, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- Found 'em in my head :-) Fulton I only found out about from the recent eCoupled press releases. interleukin is ilgenetics.com. Some others -
- interleukin also owns allan james group llc.
- Alticor also bought Gurwitch Products (incl Laura Mercier brand) recently --Insider201283 03:15, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

- A "Nutrilite Health Institute" or something like that is also mentioned somewhere. It'd be great if we could find a comprehensive list or sources for this. -Will Beback · † · 04:12, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

This transaction, [1], includes a few more: Alticor Global Holdings Inc., Pyxis Innovations Inc., Alticor Holdings Inc. Then, to complicate matters further, the families have separately owned some Amway-related companies, like Amway Japan Limited/N.A.J. Co., Ltd.[2] and Amway Asia Pacific Ltd.,[3] It's a tangled web that probably keeps a lot of lawyers and accountants busy. -Will Beback · † · 09:12, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Also a "Amway Mutual Fund". [4] -Will Beback · † · 09:17, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
And "Amway of Canada Ltd." [5] - related? -Will Beback · † · 09:30, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- If you're going to get into the international subsidiaries, which are mostly parts of separate american subsidiaries, it will be a very long list :-). I don't think that's necessary. Pyxis Innovations was the R&D group, but looks like has been replaced by Fulton. Nutrilite Health Institute aka Center for Optimal Health don't need separate listings, but the Center for Optimal Health probably should be mentioned in the Nutrilite article, as well as some other stuff (chair at Stanford, other university partnerships things like that)
-
- None of these need separate listings, it'd just be nice to include in one list as many of the subsidiaries as we can find. Since Alticor is a global company the foreign subsidiaries should be listed if we can find them. -Will Beback · † · 20:50, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

- Great. What's our source? -Will Beback · † · 05:29, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- For many of them it was starting at www.amway.com and listing through subsidiaries and checking contact details for company name. Others was googling to confirm preexisting knowledge - in other words virtually a separate source for every single one :-(. And there's more to go. --Insider201283 11:17, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Please record those sources as you find them so we can all verify the info. -Will Beback · † · 23:02, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Here is a sources that has a bunch of them [7]. MAGIC CARPET AVIATION seems to be another. Spshu 20:57, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Logos
I've put the logo image back. I did not notice its removal at the time, or I would have put it back sooner. Every logo depicted on it is a company that is a wholly owned subsidiary. go to the alticor site: [8] and click on "Alticore companies" and you will see this composite logo. The only thing done to it was to refactor the placement a bit to make it fit the article better. So, let's discuss. If you claim this logo is NOT fair use please explain exactly why. Thank you. ++Lar: t/c 14:49, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
