WP:Fancruft is an essay and not even a guideline. As I've said here having such a list as this doesn't mean every version should be merged here. (Emperor 00:41, 18 September 2007 (UTC))

[edit] Doom 2099 Survey

I am posted merge tags and wanted to start the discussion, similar to what is being done on the Hulk and Spider-man Alternate version discussions.

• No Merge - Doom 2099 appeared in his own series and was one of the launching titles for 2099 imprint. Though similar, they are wholly separate characters. The series itself left unresolved whether Doom 2099 was in fact Victor Von Doom, Kristoff Vernard, or another character altogether. The characters of 2099 represent a distinctive imprint, and unlike fancruft Doom 2099 has an established and lengthy publication history. Doom 2099 deserves mention, but not to be merged wholly into this article. 66.109.248.114 20:48, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
