- July 24, 2007: The British record label Rough Trade Records was sold to the Beggars Group of record labels. The label, which signed indie rock bands such as The Smiths and The Strokes, will "continue to be a wholly independent label". (NME)
- July 1, 2007: R.E.M., who are currently working on the follow up to their 2004 album Around the Sun, treated fans in a Dublin concert to a "working rehersal" of 11 songs. (NME)

- June 26, 2007: The original members of The Verve have reunited for a 2007 winter tour. The band were, according to a press release, "getting back together for the joy of the music." (I Like Music)
- June 16, 2007: British bands Kaiser Chiefs, Hard-Fi and The Streets join the Ibiza Rocks concert line-up, along with The Rumble Strips, Mark Ronson and Good Shoes. (NME)
- June 15, 2007: Oasis are to start recording their seventh studio album on 3 July. Guitarist Noel Gallagher added "It would be great if it was done by the end of the year [...], but that's insane wishful thinking." (NME)
- June 14, 2007: The music of Radiohead has been used in a Scottish ballet. Ride the Beast details choreographer Stephen Petronio's affection for the band. Petronio added: "Radiohead's music is a brilliant investigation of achingly modern taste." (Drowned in Sound)

- May 22, 2007: The Smashing Pumpkins play their first concert since reuniting, in Paris, France. (Billboard)
- May 11, 2007: Art Brut have entered the studio to record their next album, titled It's a Bit Complicated. (NME)
- May 11, 2007: The lineup of The Smashing Pumpkins has been revealed. Joining frontman Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain will be ex-The Lassie Foundation guitarist Jeff Schroeder, according to MTV News, and bassist Ginger Reyes, formerly of Halo Friendlies. An official statement from the band has yet to be released. (Aversion)
- May 7, 2007: The English group New Order have split up. Bassist Peter Hook told the radio station Xfm on May 4 that the group has dissolved, but gave no reasons for the move. (Aversion)

- April 6, 2007: The Foo Fighters are to return to the studio to record their next album. The band will work with producer Gil Norton, who previously produced their second album The Colour and the Shape. (Aversion)
- April 4, 2007: Wilco have expanded their world tour in support of their upcoming album, Sky Blue Sky. Their upcoming album will be released on May 14 in the United Kingdom and a day later in the United States. (NME)

- March 29, 2007: U2 frontman Bono has been awarded a knighthood by David Reddaway, the British ambassador to Ireland, for services to music and humanitarian causes. Guitarist The Edge and bassist Adam Clayton were in attendance. (NME)
- March 28, 2007: Modest Mouse's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, their first album with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, debuts at number one on the Billboard album charts. (Billboard)
