Alternate (company)

The Alternate Computerversand GmbH is the biggest hardware-deliverer in Europe, located in Linden (Hessen). The company sells its products through their internetshop and an own call center. In Linden there are also two shops.
Alternate is also present in the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium and Spain. The company also owns wave-computer.de for resale. Alternate is also the main sponsor of the eSports-Team Alternate aTTaX

- 1992 Foundation
- 1996 Moved to a new Building in Linden (from Gießen)
- 1997 October 15th the Webshop went online
- 1998 Opening of the subsidiary in the Netherlands
- 2000 Start of the new Logisticscentre in Linden (ca. 3,500 m²)
- 2001 German Internet price of the Federal Ministry of economy and technology; opening of the Spanish establishment
- 2004 extension of the logistics centre (on now 5,800 m²); start of the new web shop
- 2005 the Dutch establishment covers a new building with 5,600 m² usable area
- 2006 takeover of the two neighbouring, 15,000 m² sports parks (Alternate sports park)
- 2007 Opening of a shop in Vienna, Austria
