[edit] Other violent incidents at Alrosa

According to the December 10, 2004 edition of The Columbus Dispatch, on January 25, 2004, two special duty Columbus, Ohio police officers heard shots fired in a parking lot across the street from The Alrosa Villa. On January 1, 2003, a fight inside the club spilled into the parking lot and shots were fired. Four people were wounded.

[edit] Area surrounding Alrosa

I meant to tone down the original "sometines called one of the more dangerous neighborhoods in the country". I put it in the original article as a placeholder but neglected to revise it. A thousand apologies! However, I do believe the reference is valid -- if I can dig it up, I'll post a link. Even with a reference, I didn't intend to use it in the final text because I have my doubts -- however, the immediate area is crime ridden and has had plenty of shootings, including other multiple murders. The general neighborhood has also been the site of several recent terrorist-related investigations (for whatever that's worth), including the guy who was arrested within the past year for plotting to blow up a suburban Columbus mall.

The deletion of any such references to the area in the article was appropriate. There is no reason to justify this crime by stating that it was "in a bad neighborhood". The killer was not even from Columbus, but from Marysville, Ohio, about thirty miles northwest of Columbus. And living within a mile of this venue, I don't notice the area being particularly crime-ridden. It is just northeast of Clintonville, a very desirable neighborhood, although distinctly not a part of it. I do not know of any frequent multiple murders in that club's area, nor do I know anything of the "general neigborhood" being subject to terrorist-related investigations. The arrested person mentioned in the last sentence, assuming I have the correct one, did not live near that club, but in a neighborhood near the OSU campus southwest of Clintonville.
The bottom line is that your doubts--about including text that refers to this neighborhood as one of the most dangerous in the country--are justified. I do have doubts that this club even merits an article in Wikipedia at all, though.
