Alqueire

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The alqueire is a measure of land used in Brazil.

Several regional versions of the measurement exist:

alqueire paulista 2.42 hectares
alqueire mineiro or goiano 4.84 hectares

alqueire do norte 2.72 hectares

The alqueire was also an old Portuguese measure of capacity which varied between 13 and 22 litres. It was generally used for grain.
