Hi,

Thank you very much for contributing these wonderful articles related to Taoism. They are invaluable treasures for the world. I have some questions and want some advice from you, so please forgive my liberty, how can I contact you?

[edit] {{helpme}}

At the right side of the Taoism page, there is a vertical box titled "Part of a series on Taoism", how to add an item into it?

The box is a 'template'. If you edit any page containing a template, and scroll right down to the bottom, below the edit box and list of special characters, you'll see a list of the templates used on that page; in this case, it's Template:Taoism. Click on the template's name to view it separately and to edit it; the easiest way to create a new template is by copying other similar templates, and the easiest way to add an item to a template is to copy the markup of the other items already there. Hope that helps! --ais523 16:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your help. could you please also tell me that how to change the title of an article?
If your account is at least 4 days old, you can do it using the 'move' tab at the top of the screen (otherwise, you have to ask a more established account to do it for you). Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been online for a while. --ais523 17:46, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Taoist sexual practices

Regarding your recent edits to TSP, you should probably review our policy on original research, which basically says don't do it. Note that in addition, quotes should not be used, in favour of a prose summary. In addition, your modification of the taoism template at the top of the page, for one thing, screwed up the template, for another, would be regarded as a WP:POV or OR contribution. Changes have been reverted.

Thanks,

Look, you don't appear to understand what you are doing on wikipedia and it's purpose. Please read up on the five pillars of wikipedia before creating any more articles or editing existing ones. You can't make up your own definitions and you should not be using quotations. WLU 15:57, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi dear friend,
I just found your massage, I'm a newbie in here, so I'm sorry for the trouble.
You said that I should not use quotations, but in this page Xian (Daoist immortal), many quotations are used, such as "The xian archetype is described by Victor H. Mair." and "The White Tigress Manual, a treatise on female sexual yoga, states", etc. why?
I'm not making my own definitions, my contents are based on orthodox Taoism and are supported by lots of Scriptures. Frankly, in this site, many explanations of Taoist terms are wrong, and some of them are merely serious slandering. The slanders may greatly hurt those who have faith in Taoism. However, I didn't delete those wrong contents, I just added my contents, and you deleted them. If you allow those wrong contents to exist, why you do not allow my contents?
First of all, you should not be duplicating articles. If Seen as you are using it is an alternate pronunciation of Xian, and it looks like it is, your articles are redundant. You should turn your duplicate pages into redirects to the appropriate articles. There is no point to have different articles for the same term.
Second, the use of quotations is deprecated - articles full of quotations would be extremely long. Quotations should be used in cases where the verbatim wording is important (such as controversial quotations or frequent mis-quotations) but otherwise a prose summary is better.
Third, the argument 'this article is doing the same thing' means you should correct the other article rather than duplicating an error in the one you are wroking on.
Fourth, scriptures are a valid source for certain types of information (what the scriptures say), note that any interpretation of that scripture must come from a reliable source, not us.
Finally, articles should not be used to make a point and it is not the place to proclaim opinions. Please review these policies before contributing further articles. You may also want to read up on WP:DAB. If I correct or make substantial changes to pages, I'll post a message on your talk page or the talk pages of the individual article. [edit] Helpme tags

Here, so as not to clutter up the RFP page anymore. See this - CAT:HELPME, for how to do a helpme tag. Dan 02:33, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much

[edit] Template:Unorthodox Taoism

What is the intendd purpose of Template:Unorthodox Taoism? It appears to merely expand to the words "Unorthodox Taoism" and is thus merely a longer and clumsier way of writing those words. What were you trying to do here? DES (talk) 04:39, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, that's a misoperation, can I delete or modify it?
You can modify it yourself if you choose, or if you want it deleted, put {{db-author}} on it, and it will be deleted by an admin. DES (talk) 16:31, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sexual practices are not recognized by orthodox Taoism

This is not a good title for an article-- can you suggest a better one, and can you please rewrite it a more conventional encyclopedic manner--and it would be good to list at least one English translation of a work about it. DGG (talk) 06:41, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your comments. could you please suggest a shorter title that has the same meaning? thx again.

[edit] Sign

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. WLU 11:29, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WP:EL

It might also be a good idea to become familiar with our policy on external links - you add a lot of external links to articles, and may be accused of a spammer. The links look useful to me, but a greater familiarity with the policy means you can address concerns that people have about them. WLU 11:33, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your syncretic and respectful contribution to Rainbow Body.
