Talk:Alpine, Alaska

Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Cities standards might help.

Somebody is having a joke at wikipedia's expense. I spent 12+ years living in the North Slope Borough, and nobody ever mentioned a location named 'Alpine'. The Lat/Lon take you to the village of Nuiqsut, which is indeed a real place. "Alpine's" zero population is thus a tipoff to the bogosity of this entry.

File this one in fictional towns like Cicely, Alaska.

Alpine is in fact a real community per the State of Alaska. It is however considered unpopulated/seasonal-use. See [1]akghetto talk 00:27, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

Alpine is an actual oil production facility located about 8 miles from the village of Nuiqsut, The population at any given time at Alpine is probably grater than the population of the nearby village.
