It looks like since we moved the 'alum' page and the 'chapter' page, they haven't been being updated, or had additional information added. I say we combine it down to one article again. anyone have objections?

I moved the chapters back to their own page in order to add more detailed information specific to that topic. I was originally all for keeping it on the main page when it was just a list, but I think expanding it beyond that merits its own page.

The AKPsi page is getting pretty long. Does anyone have any objections to putting the 315 chapter roster in a separate wiki? (6/25)

nah let's leave it alone, i think it looks better that way. How about some people step up and help update the web page links for the chapters?

I think we should incorporate the links for the various chapters the chapter roster, perhaps by making the chapter names the hyper link, eg "Pi" being a hyper link to the given chapter. I feel it looks kinda sloppy and disorganized on the bottom.

I noticed no one has added this section yet. Which chapters officially have houses? I know of two...University of Georgia and University of Southern California.

Beta Xi at Virginia Tech also has a house.

~Florida State has a house, and I'm pretty sure University of Florida and Michigan Tech have houses as well.

- University of Minnesota (Alpha Eta) in Minneapolis has a house! And a nice one at that!

Who keeps deleting the origins of the unofficial motos? I noticed that the "Mixing Business with Pleasure Since 1904" has been seen quite heavily as of late amongst the south western chapters. Further digging, led me that the Univseristy of Southern California chapter (Alpha Zeta) first used it as a campaign back in Fall 2004 as part of its revamped membership recruitment campaign to make the chapter seem more open and youth-savvy than other business clubs on campus. Any truth to this and if it first started with USC?

I can promise you unequivocally that it has been around much longer than that. I saw that motto when I pledged in F'2000, and have seen shirts older than that with that motto. Sorry!!

- Which chapter have you seen it in? Many of the southern california chapters will tend to favor it started in 2004.

I agree with the individual who saw in in f'00. I know for certain I saw it several times back when I was still an active member between 2001-2003.

Same goes for the "join us now..work for us later" motto...did that not originate from the UCLA or UCI chapters? I wish there was proof of who started the "Mixing Business and Pleasure..." motto.

seriously folks, these mottos are all quite old. There is no way of telling what chapter started what slogan and when. the best we might be able to do is say what chapter was first to put it on a Tshirt.

[edit] Largest International Biz Fraternity?

Please qualify that this is 1) an international fraternity and 2) if (1) is not true, that it is the largest national fraternity, as Delta Sigma Pi claims to be this. This article needs some work. The history section is much too long. Iheartwiki19 10:44, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Here is Deltasig's national website, where they claim 200K members and that they are instialling their 260th chapter: http://www.dspnet.org/dspmarket/about_us/default.asp. According to their chapter rolls, Deltasig has no active international chapters.

Here is AKPsi's national website, where they claim 230K members: http://www.akpsi.com/about/fraternity_statistics.cfm I was a founding member of the 'Sigma Psi' Chapter which was the 284th installed by AKPsi 5 years ago.

AKPsi has 2 chapters in Canada and 3 in the UK. Additionally, why would the history section being long be viewed as a problem if its comprehensive and accurate? I feel it is fine.

Someone is continually removing Ronald Reagan from the Alumni list. Recently, they posted the following message:

(Contrary to a common misconseption Ronald Reagan was never an Alpha Kappa Psi member, and there was never an Alpha Kappa Psi chapter at Eureka College where he attended and was in fact a Tau Kappa Epsilon.)

Grammatical errors aside, Ronald Reagan was indeed initiated by the University of Southern California in 1963, an honorary membership bestowed to him for his years of service to the city of Los Angeles and his achievements in the entertainment industry. It is interesting to note that this initiation preceded his entrance into politics.

Here is a news article from AKPsi’s website [[1]] discussing President Reagan’s membership. The article is over a year old, so I believe the images links have been broken, but if you would like, I would happily contact the Heritage Center and ask them to repost a picture of his membership card, complete with his signature.

Being a member of a Professional Fraternity does not disqualify you from being a member of a Social Fraternity. In fact, our CEO Gary Epperson is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and Alpha Kappa Psi.

The History section is copied directly out of http://www.akpsi.org/about/history.cfm and http://www.akpsi.com/about/history_2.cfm As we do not have permission from the board or the national webmaster we cannot post this. Actually permission is not enough as they must agree to release the content under the GFDL. As far as I know they have not. I have emailed Mr. Mendoza at akpsi.org and he has responded that he will get back to me.

Also a large part of the Women's history section looks taken from there too. A few words have been taken out or moved around, but it looks way to close for coincidence.

As the section is quite large I have refrained from taking it immediately to see what the other editors have to say, but it should be taken out or rewritten for the time being until we receive conformation that the content of the pages has been released. Just curious, but where did we get this info from? It's great!

That came from old handbook edition issues of The Diary. I have editions 1 (1934) through 6 (1971). I believe there were a few more editions after that, so if anyone has them then they can probably add some additional people. I'll work on expanding the senators, congressmen, and judges next.

I added the University of South Carolina as the latest chapter, Beta Upsilon of Alpha Kappa Psi, and it was removed. I know it is a fact because I was just initiated at the University of South Carolina and we are proud of our chapter. Any idea why this was removed?

It's already on the list at #65 because it was originally chartered in 1948.
