Alpur is a census town in Howrah district in the state of West Bengal, India.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Alpur had a population of 5644. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Alpur has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 55% of the males and 45% of females literate. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
